My process is centered around working closely with natural materials, allowing patterns and structures to develop throughout. I experience weaving as a dialogue between the human hand and the fibre, with the final piece revealing itself as a result of respect and care between the two.
Sometimes I spin wool and linen from available local sources, sometimes I source quality thread from secondhand stores around the world.
I listen to my intuition while in the loom, making choices throughout the weaving process..
I was trained in hand weaving through two years at Capellagarden, a craft school in Öland, Sweden that focuses on practical, hands-on learning.
Here I gained important knowledge about fibres, textile construction, color theory, and the challenges of our modern textile industry. Valuable aspects that I consider closely through my practice.
I take on commisions and would be happy to weave for a specific space or purpose you have in mind. Woven pieces are occasionally available for purchase. These will be listed here on the website.
